PHL 311 - Philosophy of Religion |
The philosophy of religion seeks to address different aspects of religion in a rational and system-atic manner. The course focuses on a variety of questions. Some of these are metaphysical, con-cerning the concept of God, traditional as well as contemporary arguments for God’s existence, and formulations of the problem of evil as well as different responses to the problem. Others are epistemological, focusing on the relationship between faith and reason, the ethics of religious be-lief, and issues concerning religious pluralism. [3-0, 3 cr.]
