This course is an introduction to the preparation and extraction of active ingredients, and the identification and classification of medicinal plants. An explanation of the pharmacology and therapeutic use of commonly prescribed and dispensed herbal medicines, based on current scientific research, is covered.Prerequisite: PHA313 and Corequisite: Professional Year 2 status. [2 cr.].
