This course provides an introduction to biotechnology and its application in a variety of medical, clinical and science disciplines. Fundamental principles of recombinant DNA technology are presented with an emphasis on pharmaceutical applications where appropriate. Furthermore, this course introduces the principles and techniques of spectroscopy and chromatography used in pharmaceutical analysis. Prerequisite: PHA208 and Corequisites: PHA309 and Professional Year 1 status [2 cr.].
