This course seeks to evaluate the theoretical literature on the causes and outcomes of revolutions as well as use case studies to highlight how various factors and dynamics lead to (or do not lead to) significant political change. The course will highlight the active participation of women in revolutions historically and the active role they played during the Arab uprisings.
