HST 305 - Contemporary Europe 1945-1989 |
This course focuses on the history of Europe in the 20th century. Major events such as the Russian Revolu-tion, the Great Depression of the 1930’s and the rise of Mussolini and Hitler are emphasized There is special focus on the causes and development of the First World War, the inter war period in Germany, and the Wei-mar Republic. There is also a strong focus on the process of Appeasement, its reasons and how it emboldened Hitler. The Second World War is mainly studied in the European theater of war. [3-0, 3 cr.]
