This course will examine women’s entrepreneurial achievements and highlight how race, class, and gender influence the way women engage in entrepreneurial activities. Students taking this course will be able to identify theoretical frameworks for examining issues pertaining to women’s entrepreneurship, explain key concepts related to the topic and critically evaluate arguments and texts about women’s entrepreneurship. Students and after taking this course will be able to determine whether entrepreneurship can serve as a form of agency and enterprise for women in light of globalization and the flexible labor market policies.
