ENG 301 - Food and Travel Writing |
This course introduces the history of food writing, different genres of food criticism, and trains students to write restaurant criticism and food criticism for different media. The course also studies different forms of travel writing from the past and present and offers practical training in several genres of travel writing, in structuring narratives, drawing on experience, developing specialized language, the right angle, inventive ideas, descriptions, imagery, and humor. Students will explore new formats such as blogging, multimedia and photography.
Prerequisite: ENG 102 [3-0, 3 cr.]
