This course covers the biochemistry of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, nucleic acids; enzymes and coenzymes; vitamins and cofactors. Emphasis is placed on metabolic pathways, the interrelationships of nutrients and the relation of metabolic processes to the overall human health. Prerequisites: BIO201 Biology I; Pre or Co-requisite: CHM311 Organic Chemistry or CHM310 Basic Organic Chemistry [3-0, 3 cr.].
